Coating Research Center

Yasui Seiki established Coating Research Centers in Japan and U.S.A. to provide coating research facilities for the coating industry. Since 1986 over 10,000 test coatings have been produced for customers developing new coated materials. These coating research centers' services shorten the development to commercialization cycle through state-of-the-art equipment, measuring and analytical tools and experienced lab staff members.  Also, see Yasui Seiki Co., (USA) Machines.

Our newest test coating facility opened in Omura, in Southern Japan, in August 2001.

As we enter the 21st century we should reflect on how technology can, and should, contribute to the welfare of mankind. Coating technology can be applied to many, and diverse areas. Electronics, communications, medical care among them, good uses of our environment and natural resources, improvement of our daily lives, are goals YASUI SEIKI addresses while providing technology worldwide.

Precision Coating

Since receiving a patent in 1987 YASUI SEIKI's "Micro Gravure™" coating systems has surpassed 350 units worldwide. Demands for thin, accurate coating layers on light gauge films generated that population of "Micro Gravure™" coaters. Growth in use of imaging materials, electronic and display components driving continued placement of the system. Many high value added products are achieved with narrow width 150mm to 300mm "Micro Gravure™" coaters or coating heads. Now coating widths to 1600mm are expanding the possible products and applications.

Micro Gravure™ Coater

Our patented "Micro Gravure™" uses small diameter gravure rolls of Ø20mm - Ø50mm. These small rolls cause a much smaller wet contact area than conventional gravure rolls of 150mm to 300mm diameter. This provides a small stable coating 'bead' which combined with reverse application achieves smooth and uniform coated layers. "Micro Gravure™" coating can provide layers from 0.007μ to 40μ making it applicable to electronics, optical films, LCD components, imaging and similar materials.

Slot Die Coater

Recently customers requirements have increased for high precision, uniform layers of 4μ to 400μ for ceramic green sheet and Lithium batteries. Our Slot Die system has been engineered to address this requirement. Easy operation and coating accuracy is obtainable with dies for widths of  100mm or 1000mm. Drying becomes a very important consideration with these thicknesses. Special arch type idler supported dryers and flotation systems with patented, high efficiency air bars can be provided.

Flexible Coater

Yasui's FLEXIBLE COATER, model CAG or CPS are available for coated widths of 150mm to 1650mm. Patented "Micro Gravure™" can be combined with slot die, knife over roll or Four Roll Offset Gravure. Wet or dry lamination, in-line slitting, hot air dryer and UV and Electron Beam curing can be incorporated as well. High technology, high value added products are increasingly made using our 300~600mm, low speed, high accuracy machines equipped with a clean coating station. Our machines utilize high technology concepts but are handmade by our professional people.

Production Coater

Yasui Seiki has met customers' difficult requirements and given excellent coating results. As we have exceeded their expectations, they have decided to scale up the machines to manufacture their products. We have made many production machines to many customers in the world.
