YASUI SEIKI COATING APPLICATIONS – Slot Die (*About Slot Die Coating) Recently customers requirements have increased for high precision, uniform layers of 4μ to 400μ for ceramic green sheet and Lithium batteries. Our Slot Die system has been engineered to address this requirement. Easy operation and coating accuracy is obtainable with dies for widths of 100mm or 1000mm. Drying becomes a very important consideration with these thicknesses. Special arch type idler supported dryers and flotation systems with patented, high efficiency air bars can be provided.
4 to 400 microns wet thickness, with occasional experiences to 2 micron and 1 mm.
Coating onto webs from 8 micron (30
gauge) PET to 350 micron (1400 ga.) PET, foils, paper,
glass felts, cloth, Kapton®, other specialty films, PP, PE, etc.

Recent new internal flow design to greatly expand the range of viscosity of a single
slot die, without adjustment "bolts", that achieved +/- 1.3 pct profile on 120 microns
dry. Patent is applied for on this
new design element.
